The Napa Valley Grapegrowers conducts the Napa Valley Wages & Benefits survey, which gathers information on vineyard labor practices and compensation. The purpose of the survey is to collect the information and re-distribute it to all participating grower and vineyard managers to be used as a tool to effectively compensate their vineyard workers.
The NVG engages a third party to conduct the survey, which results in an independent and objective product. Giovanni Peri, Professor of Economics and Director, Temporary Migration Cluster, UC Davis, compiles the information and provides participants with a thorough analysis of the data. Information obtained from the survey is kept strictly confidential and presented only in aggregate form with no single entity mentioned. The detailed aggregate results of the analysis are distributed only to survey participants.
