Growing Conditions Report Video Series

The Growing Conditions Report (GCR) was created to provide NVG members with a simple tool to review the past year’s growing season conditions. The report employs three simple and widely understood climate measurements known to influence grapevine development, ripening, and crop loads: growing degree days (GDD), total frost hours, and rainfall.

The GCR was started in 2010 with the intention of becoming a tool that would allow grapegrowers to compare conditions across vintages. Over time, a multi-year collection of reports will add to our understanding of regional climate conditions and help to identify climate trends.

2020 Growing Conditions Report

The 2020 Growing Conditions Report marks the 11th year of a long-term initiative of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers.  We are so grateful to Pacific GeoData, Picovale Weather Services, Piña Vineyard Management, and Silverado Farming Company for supplying the data and the expertise to compile this year's report. While the reports are available only for NVG grower and vineyard manager members via the left navigation, you can watch a recap of 2020 here:
