Date: Tuesday, March 5
Time: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm , 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (1 hour break for lunch)
Format: Zoom with company provided facilitator
This workshop will cover WPS regulations and the California Code of Regulations (3CCR Section 6764 and 3CCR Section 6739). The training will be based on our DPR- and EPA-approved curriculum with modified hands-on activities due to the fact that this training will be delivered via zoom. Participating companies will need to provide an onsite facilitator who can commit to a one hour training on use of training kit and materials. No special training is needed to be a facilitator.
This course meets the requirements established by the revised 2018 Worker Protection Standard, which is mandated by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. This workshop, presented by the UC Integrated Pest Management Program, will qualify participants who successfully complete the program to train fieldworkers and pesticide handlers under these revised regulations. Topics will cover pesticide exposure, signs and symptoms of illness, emergency medical care, proper use of personal protective equipment, safe handling and transportation of pesticides, and laws and regulations regarding labels and safety data sheets.
If you experience any issues with registration or do not receive the Zoom information by Friday, January 22, please reach out info@farmworkerfoundation.org for assistance.
