Speakers will address contract pricing and payment structures and how to navigate the Grape Crush Report after an unprecedented 2020 harvest. Topics will include smoke taint and contract language, incorporating insurance costs, payment schedules, and more.

John Trinidad, Partner, Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty


John Trinidad is a partner in the firm’s Wine Law, Business, Alcohol Beverage, and Geographical Indications practice groups. John advises wine and alcohol beverage industry clients on a broad range of legal issues, including business formation, obtaining alcohol beverage licenses, and the drafting of key contracts, such as grape purchase agreements, vineyard leases, and distribution contracts, and the purchase and sale of winery brands and assets. John also advises clients on federal and state alcohol beverage regulations such as franchise laws, tied-house laws, labeling requirements, and the protection and promotion of American Viticultural Areas.

Carol Kingery Ritter, Managing Partner, Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty


Carol Kingery Ritter is a Managing Partner of DP&F and practices in the firm’s business and real property practice groups. Carol’s practice includes general corporate formation, compliance and restructuring and business contracts with an emphasis on serving wine industry business. Carol has specific expertise in the preparation and negotiation of essential wine business contracts, such as grape purchase agreements, distribution agreements, wine production agreements, vineyard leases and vineyard redevelopment agreements, and counseling clients through complex vineyard, winery and wine business sales and acquisitions.
