2020 Fields of Opportunity - Summer Mentor Program

Various Locations

06/08/2020 - 07/31/2020

A collaboration between Napa Valley Grapegrowers, Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, Napa Valley Unified School District, St. Helena Unified School District and Calistoga Joint Unified School District, Fields of Opportunity is an innovative mentorship program connecting NVG members with local high school students interested in pursuing a career in the vineyard & wine industry. Students will have an opportunity to work with Napa Valley Grapegrowers' members throughout the summer to learn various aspects of the vineyard business.

Students accepted to the program will participate in an 8-week paid mentorship experience.  Each student will spend 4 weeks with an employer, gaining experience at two different partner organizations throughout the summer.  During each rotation, they will learn specific areas of vineyard management, ag mechanics and specialty training, customer service, viticulture, safety & HR, winery and cellar work & more!

All applications are collected through the Napa Valley Unified School District site here. Student applications are open March 2 - 31, 2020.
