Tuesday, May 13 from 5 pm to 7 pm Charles Sullivan will be at Larkmead Vineyards on Larkmead Lane in Calistoga to sign copies of the second edition of his book, Napa Wine: A History from Mission Days to Present. The celebration of a new edition of this sought-after work is the joint effort of its publisher, the Wine Appreciation Guild in cooperation with the Napa Valley Wine Library, and Larkmead Vineyards for friends of Larkmead, the Guild and Wine Library members.
The first edition of Napa Wine was published in 1994. So many changes have come to the Napa Valley wine community since then that the author saw the need to bring his book up to date. Sullivan has added a 15th chapter, “When Cabernet Was King” and ends his history with the sale of Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in July, 2007. Sullivan was recently honored as the recipient of the 18th Wine Literary Award for his work as a wine historian. Napa Wine is to be released May 28 but copies will be on sale for signing at the winery, $45.00 plus tax, the day of the event. For further information call Matt Simpson at Larkmead Vineyards (707) 942-0167 x 201.
